Research direction

Start by reviewing the multicodec table sources in go-cid/cid.go and js-multihash/src/constants.js, along with the js-multicodec lookup-table update guidance. Define how the GitHub Action detects daily table changes and whether it opens issues or pull requests in client repositories. Done means the automation keeps the JS and Go implementations synchronized through those repository updates.

Description

help wanted

Right now we need to manually update tables in JS/GO implementations:

This is pretty bad for IPFS/IPLD ecosystem because we often run into situation where different implementations understand different subset of the table (recent example: https://github.com/multiformats/multihash/issues/129#issuecomment-661040091 + https://github.com/multiformats/js-multicodec/pull/62).

Here is an idea:

Create a Github Action that runs daily, detects multicodec table changes and either opens issues or PRs against client repos.
