Description

Cleanup enhancement Ready for final check

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

While auditing license headers for #1734, I cross-referenced every tracked source file against sources.pri / test123.pro and against actual #include usage. Ten files are neither listed in the build nor included by any compiled file — they are dead code.

Tellingly, these are almost exactly the files that had the worst header rot in #1734 (the two copyright ranges stuck at 2016-2024, the CRLF line endings, the commented-out header), which is consistent with them having been abandoned years ago and missed by every subsequent sweep.

The files

File Evidence it is dead
analogclock.cpp / .h The #include "analogclock.h" in mainwindow.h is commented out; AnalogClock is referenced nowhere. Neither file appears in any build file.
bass_audio.cpp / .h Not in SOURCES; the header is included only by its own dead .cpp.
danceprogramsmodel.cpp / .h Not in SOURCES; same self-referential pair.
renderarea.cpp / .h Not in SOURCES; the #include "renderarea.h" in mainwindow.h is commented out, and RenderArea is used nowhere outside the pair.
myproxystyle.h Included by nothing, not in HEADERS.
AppleMusicLibraryXMLReader.cpp Not in SOURCES, included by nothing.

Proposed cleanup

  1. Delete all of the above.
  2. Remove the two commented-out includes (analogclock.h, renderarea.h) left behind in mainwindow.h.
  3. Drop the stale // TODO: all the other stuff from AnalogClock::redrawTimerExpired() in mainwindow.cpp, which points at a deleted function.
  4. Reword the note atop flexible_audio.cpp telling the reader to "use contents of bass_audio.cpp" on non-M1 Macs.

Since none of this is compiled, the build should be unaffected — but it wants its own build-and-test cycle rather than riding along on a copyright change, which is why it is filed separately.

Worth a decision

bass_audio.* is the old BASS audio backend, superseded by the JUCE/flexible_audio path. renderarea.* looks like early SD formation-rendering work that squaredancerscene replaced. Both are recoverable from git history if ever needed.
