Description

@juliankang4 We are cleaning code and gates on main today. Some of it touches the files your recent PRs touched (#898: placement, serve_seats/qwen38.rs, qwen3moe_place.rs). This note lists the changes, so a rebase on your side is not a surprise.

Landed

  • #896: crates/placement/src/placement.rs is split into placement/{machine,table,refusal,rule,planner,room,pool}.rs and placement/tests/. Public paths are re-exported, so callers do not change. An edit inside the old file now goes to the module that holds the function.
  • 87d7bf662: tools/gate-batch.sh does one ledger recheck per phase, not one per green item. Item lines now say ledger=pending, then a ledger <stem> <state> line follows.

Open

  • #899: Google's Rust style guide is mapped onto docs/rust-quality.md as R30–R42. 18 clippy lints become deny, and ~270 small fixes land across 145 files (gpu-gates bins, gpu, model, refset, runtime). tools/lint-ratchet.txt goes from 3 to 0, so any new clippy warning fails just mac-lint. A branch that adds code may need small lint fixes after the rebase. The new deny list is in the PR's Cargo.toml diff.
  • #893: deletes 14 dead public functions.

Next

  • Gate merges: gate-decision-clef and gate-decision-lev become one recipe, and the bloomery-model host-test recipes merge into a few. Recipe names and tools/gate-class.tsv rows change. Every test still runs.
  • The 7 lints that still hit metal/hf/model-hf/serve/jinja/tokenizer/embed (61 spans) are fixed next. Then they become deny too.
