  3. Open Chat with the Copilot agent and send a message to start the agent session.

  4. Run Chat: Open Customizations, then open Migrate MCP Servers.

  5. Verify portable is eligible for migration and the other three servers appear under Not migratable.

  6. Open the details for gallery-only. Verify it says gallery metadata cannot be migrated to the destination MCP configuration and instructs you to remove gallery.

  7. Open the details for version-only. Verify it says server version metadata cannot be migrated to the destination MCP configuration and instructs you to remove version.

  8. Open the details for gallery-and-version. Verify both diagnostics are shown.

  9. Remove all gallery and version properties from .vscode/mcp.json, then reopen Migrate MCP Servers.

  10. Verify all four servers are eligible for migration and no metadata portability warnings remain.
