Research direction

Start by locating the Foundry Toolkit extension’s model discovery and download entry points, then compare how they handle models already available through the Foundry Local CLI. The issue gives no file names or tests, so first map those flows and check how the extension identifies local models. Done means FTK recognizes an already downloaded model and avoids downloading a duplicate.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

needs attention

Foundry Toolkit (FTK)extension does not identify the models that are already downloaded in the foundry local cli. FTK downloads a fresh copy of the model, this duplication leads to memory issues. I have attached a screenshot of the model existing on Foundry local and the same model on FTK, which requires a download.
