Research direction

Review the two linked code-interpreter documentation pages and compare the platform-managed and custom options against the package-installation and outbound-network requirements described here. Update the relevant documentation so the boundary, supported workflow, and point at which custom code interpreter is required are explicit.

Description

python triage

We want to build an agent that can generate code or modify the existing code and install the packages ,that may not exist in the preinstalled environment, validate and run the project .

The agent should be able to call the external apis or package registries.

The platform managed Code interpreter documentation says that environment has fixed set of packages and the sandbox cannot make outbound network requets. It recommends Custom code interpreter when cuistom packages are needed.

Could you clarify the intended boundry between the two options?

Why this Matters

platform managed code interpreter is attractive because it is managed and isolated .However , our workflow cannot be completed if generated tools need packages that are not preinstalled , need network access.

We want to understand whether platform managed interpreter can support this scenario , or whether custom code interpreter is required from the begining.
