Research direction

Start by locating the CLI and settings entry points that control how the tool identifies its version. Define what stable versus develop should mean for users and how the build badge or version selection should reflect that; the issue provides no named files or tests.

Description

enhancement
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Currently the build badge shows that the build process is failing. As a user who maybe dependent on this tool, I need to be able to have a stable version of the tool.

Describe the solution you'd like

Building a flag into the CLI or settings to allow a user to identify if they are wanting stable vs develop (think Microsoft Edge) will help with risk adverse/critical workloads.

Describe alternatives you've considered
