Research direction

Start with the var section of the Financial Analysis Report (object 28026) in the Business Central base application AL source. Move the listed variables (ReportType, FormatString, ColumnHeader, ColumnSubHeader, ColumnAmount, ColumnAmountText, DoNotRoundAmount, AddCurr) from var to protected var, and check that the report's existing usages still compile. Done when the report builds and its existing tests pass.

Description

Why do you need this change?

Hi Microsoft AL Dev Team,

Currently, the report provides limited extensibility as there is not enough protected variables available for extending the object. We would like to request some protected variables on the report 28026 "Financial Analysis Report" in the Base Application.

Describe the request
Protected variables

Could you please move the following variables to the protected var section?

This would allow report extensions to access and reuse the standard report's variable:

    ...

    protected var
        ReportType: Option " ",,"Net Change/Budget","Net Change (This Year/Last Year)","Balance (This Year/Last Year)";
        FormatString: array[6] of Text[50];
        ColumnHeader: array[2] of Text[30];
        ColumnSubHeader: array[6] of Text[30];
        ColumnAmount: array[6] of Decimal;
        ColumnAmountText: array[6] of Text[30];
        DoNotRoundAmount: array[6] of Boolean;
        AddCurr: Boolean;

   ...
Provide an implementation (optional)
