Research direction

Start by reading the GeoJSON source options and the Studio style loading and runtime source APIs mentioned in the issue. Check whether tolerance can be configured in a saved style and changed at runtime, then compare the available behavior with the documented addSource option. Done means the issue's questions have a clear, verified answer or identifies the change needed to support them.

Description

auto-triaged needs information

I've created a map style for a project with various layers based on GeoJSON sources, to enhance some of the built-in map details such as building shapes. I'm experiencing some degradation of my GeoJSON polygons which I understand is down to geometry simplification performed by Mapbox:

Source in Workbench:

Same area rendered in map (note the "circular" detail in particular):

The docs state that this behaviour can be altered via the tolerance option on the GeoJSON source. However I'm struggling to ascertain:

  1. Whether it's possible to configure this option on a GeoJSON source that I have imported into Workbench and added to the map style in Studio? and/or..
  2. Whether I can update this option at runtime when using the style that includes this source?

If not, is it necessary to load the source at runtime, rather than bake it into the map style, and specify the option when using addSource?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
