Research direction

The issue identifies okhttp/src/androidMain/baseline-prof.txt and the expected src/androidMain/baselineProfiles/ directory. Check how the Android Kotlin Multiplatform library plugin packages baseline profiles, then move the file to the expected location and inspect a built okhttp-android AAR for baseline-prof.txt.

Description

bug
Context

From OkHttp 5.4.0+, the okhttp-android AAR no longer includes baseline-prof.txt. The cause is https://github.com/lysine-dev/okhttp/pull/9269, which moved OkHttp to the new com.android.kotlin.multiplatform.library plugin.

Repro

If you download the 5.3.2 version you'll see baseline-prof.txt is packaged in the AAR. 5.4.0, 5.5.0 and 5.5.1 have none.

Quick script to download those versions and check for the baseline profile:

mkdir -p /tmp/okhttp-aar && cd /tmp/okhttp-aar
for v in 5.3.2 5.4.0 5.5.1; do
  curl -sO https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/com/squareup/okhttp3/okhttp-android/$v/okhttp-android-$v.aar
  echo "$v:"; unzip -l okhttp-android-$v.aar | grep baseline-prof || echo "  missing"
done
Suggested Fix

The file is still at okhttp/src/androidMain/baseline-prof.txt, but the KMP library plugin only reads profiles from src/androidMain/baselineProfiles/ so nothing packages it. Just need to move it to that folder dir and it should work.
