Research direction

Start by reproducing the colord memory usage on Mint 22 and compare it with the reported 6 MB baseline using GNOME System Monitor. The issue identifies no source file, test, or entry point; done would require identifying the cause of the increased usage and confirming that colord returns to expected memory consumption.

Description

Sorry I'm posting this under mintupgrade, I hope someone can put it under the right sub-category (I looked for it myself, but I just can't find where to report system issues).

So, the colord service now on Mint22 is eating away 111 MB of RAM on my laptop (as reported by the Gnome System Monitor), while it's normally at 6 MB (both in the previous Mint version and in other distros).
