Research direction

The report comes from PR #102 and concerns SpeakType 1, so start by reading that PR to see the reproduction steps and which audio code path it touched. Confirm first which version you are targeting, since the issue says SpeakType 2 uses a different audio stack. Done means that a dropped or replaced input stream mid-recording is detected and either recovers or is reported to the user.

Description

bug needs-info platform:macos priority:P2

Reported against SpeakType 1 in PR #102 by @modojodo. After switching monitors, plugging or unplugging an input device, or changing the default input, the app keeps looking like it is recording while the microphone produces nothing. SpeakType 2 uses a different audio stack, so the same code isn't there, but a dropped or replaced input stream still isn't detected mid-recording.
