Research direction

Start with the repository’s README and find the section listing tools for Claude Code. Review its existing entry format, then add Tokenade with a concise description and the provided link. Done means the entry fits the list’s conventions and accurately describes the tool; the issue mentions no test or other file.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

Tokenade — token-optimization CLI for coding agents

Repo: https://github.com/pi-infected/tokenade-npm
Site: https://tokenade.net/en
npm: @tokenade/cli

Tokenade sits between a coding agent and the model and folds the context the agent sends — deduplicating and compacting tool output, file reads and command results before they reach the API. It auto-detects the agent already installed: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot, Kilo, Windsurf.

  • Single binary, Linux / macOS / Windows, Node >= 18
  • Freemium: free tier is 10M tokens/month, no card
  • Not a usage tracker like ccusage — it reduces what gets sent, rather than reporting what was sent

Happy to open a PR against the README instead if you prefer that route, or to adjust the section and wording.
