Current gap: The test runs from scripts.freeze_paper_results import mirror_for_mcp, mirror_current_for_mcp in a subprocess and gets ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'scripts.freeze_paper_results', so the test fails without any local change.

Repro:

python3 -m pytest tests/test_check_generated_files_current.py -q -k fresh_build_copies

Suggested approach: Find why the scratch copy of the repository the test builds does not contain scripts/freeze_paper_results.py (or scripts/__init__.py) and copy what the subprocess imports.

Done when: the test passes on a clean checkout and make test-fast is green.
