Motivation
Many repositories contain multiple packages or keep a Wave package below the repository root. Vex currently requires vex.ws at the Git checkout root.
Proposed behavior
Allow an explicit, validated subdirectory selector on a Git dependency while continuing to lock the repository commit.
Acceptance criteria
- Define a manifest field and normalized portable path syntax.
- Reject absolute paths, parent traversal, symlink escapes, and empty components.
- Keep one repository checkout reusable by multiple subdirectory packages where safe.
- Include subdirectory identity in source-conflict checks, lockfiles, tree, and metadata.
- Recalculate transitive dependencies relative to the selected package manifest.
- Add local Git tests for valid nested packages and traversal attempts.
- Coordinate repository reuse with #29.
