Describe the bug
When an unauthenticated user is redirected to login from a search or Ask/chat page, the original URL is not consistently preserved.
The user may be redirected to / after signing in, or query parameters may be dropped because some login links preserve only the pathname.
Expected behavior: after successful authentication, the user should return to the exact original path and query string.
To reproduce
- Disable anonymous access.
- Sign out or open an incognito window.
- Open a URL such as
/search?query=authentication. - Complete login using credentials, SSO, or a magic link.
- Observe the destination after authentication.
Actual result: the user lands at /, or the original search/chat query parameters are missing.
Expected result: the user returns to /search?query=authentication or the corresponding Ask/chat URL unchanged.
