test

CI never builds an app, and most setup bugs came from configs we never built (#233, #306, #1503, #1547). Before 1.0, build and smoke test a pairwise matrix of:

  • Project: bare RN, Expo prebuild, monorepo (yarn)
  • Project: EAS Build
  • RN 0.83 to 0.88, Expo 55 to 58
  • Worklets 0.10 and latest, alongside Reanimated; Vision Camera, audio-api on Android
  • Vision Camera, audio-api on iOS
  • npm 11/12, yarn 1/4, pnpm 10/12, bun
  • Release: unsigned iOS archive, Android release with R8
  • Release: App Store upload validation, Android AAB
  • iOS: static libs, useFrameworks: static and dynamic, buildReactNativeFromSource
  • backends/libs opt-out subsets
  • Next to fast-opencv, op-sqlite, expo-updates, Firebase 27 (bare iOS, Android)
  • Next to Sentry, Firebase, Vision Camera with their Expo config plugins
  • Host: macOS
  • Hosts: Linux, Windows (Android), EAS
  • Smoke test: one model per backend
  • Smoke test: bundled .pte, OTA update

Outcome: compatibility page lists tested and unsupported configs; nightly CI builds a few cells.
