ChatGPT-generated RSS 2.0 feed of late news

A few days ago when they turned agents on in my ChatGPT, I tried an experiment.

I gave it a rough idea of what kind of news I was interested in and asked it to generate an RSS 2.0 feed with the news.

The prompt

I want the 20 current top stories with an emphasis on these topics: AI, blogging, US politics, the NBA and MLB. But it should be able to easily change that. that should be part of the user interface of the app.

There was a bit more to it, but that was the core. And it worked. Here's the feed it generated.

ChatGPT can't do the rest at this time, I want it to run the query every few minutes and upload the RSS to a place where I can plug it into FeedLand have it distributed to whoever is plugged into it.

The important thing is that I need to be able to tune up the prompt. For example I said at first I wanted it to include stuff about AI, but then I'd qualify that in that I wanted stories about what people are doing with it, what uses they've discovered. All of the news it was returning was about money and brands. I want pragmatic user ideas, the same way people were writing about the web when it was new and spreadsheets and PCs before that. I'm writing about that on my blog and I bet other people are too. I want to use ChatGPT (or equivalent) do help facilitate that.

I could probably whip up the user interface, but then that's something you could probably get Claude to do it as a vibe-coding project.

I want the power of designing what flows through the feeds, that's the level I want to work on. It's an open invite to people to produce the tool. I'm ready to use it! :-)
