The settings-file lock logic in rustup fails on Solaris now that lock() was removed from the Rust standard library (rust-lang/rust#157509). Start by finding where the settings.toml file lock is taken and study the Cargo workaround in rust-lang/cargo#17110 for an alternative locking approach. 'Done' means rustup installs successfully on Solaris 11.4 as in the linked libc CI run, verified by reproducing the installer flow there. Needs platform/file-locking familiarity, so better for someone with Solaris or systems-rust experience than a true first issue.

- I am on the latest version of Rustup according to https://github.com/rust-lang/rustup/tags and am still able to reproduce my issue.
Problem
Rustup v1.29.2 is broken atm, like:

This is because https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/157509 removed lock().
