Current situation:

  • Images pasted from the clipboard receive a default caption containing the filename. The caption text may be edited. The caption appears in the printed layout.
  • The caption ist rendered as a HTML <input> field. Word-wrapping to a second line is not possible. Newlines are not possible either.

Feature Request: Multiline captions

  • enable multiline captions

Alternatives:

  • Manual alternative: Remove the text in the input tag and add a paragraph below the image.
    • There's no meta information that this is a caption
    • Margins between image and fake-caption my not be controlled
  • Use a <textarea>Tag:
    • The <textarea> rendered height must be adapted on the fly while typing and before printing.
  • Establish a text block type named «caption» in the brackets menu. Insert this text block containing the filename, instead of the <input> Tag. Allow the section to be deleted or converted to a normal paragraph (as always).
