The issue depends on upstream CensusMapper API work, so first confirm whether the API already returns French labels for a language parameter. Then find where the {cancensus} R wrapper requests labels and check whether it passes a language option. Done would mean French labels come through the wrapper when requested, but the issue does not define the expected function or argument, so ask the maintainer before starting.
