説明
ElicitRequestParams::UrlElicitationParams (and ElicitRequestParamsWire::Url) declare elicitation_id: String as required (crates/rmcp/src/model.rs, current main). In the 2026-07-28 schema, ElicitRequestURLParams has mode, message and url only (schema/2026-07-28/schema.ts): the id served notifications/elicitation/complete, which that revision dropped, since the retry of the call is the completion.
So a server that answers a tools/call with a spec-conformant input_required result holding a URL elicitation is refused by an rmcp client: the input request does not deserialize as InputRequest::Elicitation. Codex 0.164.0 then fails the call with -32600: unsupported MCP tool input request (codex-rs/rmcp-client/src/tool_input.rs, parse_input).
Minimal input request that fails to parse:

Expected: elicitation_id optional (Option<String>) for URL mode, required only where the negotiated protocol is 2025-11-25.
