調査の方向性

Start by reading the native apps issue #169 and camera drafts issue #194, then identify how Arrange represents editable rooms and shapes. The issue describes phone based scanning, platform support, sensor fallbacks, and conversion into editable map objects, but names no files or tests. Done means scanned rooms and objects can be reviewed and edited, with the stated device limitations and data processing handled.

説明

area: map area: web roadmap

Today you build the 3D map yourself: draw the rooms, then put things on it. This is the bigger version: scan a room with your phone and Kept builds that part of the map for you.

What it would do

  • Scan a room. Walk around with the phone. Kept gets the room's shape and size, its walls, and the doors and windows.
  • Furniture and big things. Beds, desks, shelves, cabinets and appliances come in as map shapes at their real size and position, each offered as a thing you can keep or skip.
  • Small things in their spot. With camera drafts (#194), things you confirm land on the shelf or desk they were seen on, not just somewhere in the room.
  • Fix it after. Everything it builds can be moved, resized or removed in Arrange, like a map you drew yourself.
  • Your data stays home. The scan is processed on the phone and your own server.

Why it's big

  • It needs a phone with a depth sensor (for example iPhones with LiDAR) and the native apps (#169). A web page can't read those sensors.
  • Android needs its own approach, and phones without a depth sensor need a fallback, or the feature simply isn't offered on them.
  • Scanned shapes have to become map rooms and shapes that stay editable.

Depends on: the mobile apps (#169) and camera drafts (#194).

👍 this issue if you'd use it, and tell us which phone you'd scan with.
