IPyKernel throws cannot import name write_connection_file

まず ipykernel/init.py と ipykernel/connect.py から始め、次に traceback に示されている jupyter_client/init.py の import パスを調べます。一覧にある Python、ipykernel、jupyter-client のバージョンで python -m ipykernel install --user --name=myenv を再現します。コマンドが import エラーなしで完了し、coverage によって互換性のある import の動作がカバーされれば完了です。
