説明

The current release action runs whenever we introduce a new tag is created. This seems a bit error-prone when an accidental tag push can trigger the release workflow.

There are a few approaches where we can prevent this from happening again.

  1. We should consider changing the release workflow to run on release events such as release.published.
  2. We should disable manual tag push to GH from the repo settings.
  3. In the release GHA workflow, we should make sure the commit is GH verified. This is a good step but not sufficient though.
