Value Prop
Repository maintainers can now see role labels—such as Owner, Member, Collaborator, Contributor, First-time contributor, and First-time GitHub contributor—directly in the Issues list view, making it instantly clear who is opening issues. This eliminates the need to open individual issues or check author profiles, saving time during triage and helping maintainers provide more targeted feedback to newcomers and established contributors alike.
Expected Outcome
We want to help maintainers make faster, better-informed triage and moderation decisions by surfacing contributor context directly where they need it. By bringing repository member role information to Issues lists—matching the experience already available in pull request lists—maintainers have context on who each Issue is coming from so they can triage more effectively.
