Summary
After the install-directory arguments from #1633 were added, Alien::Build reaches its download/build stages under PerlOnJava, but extracting the downloaded Ninja and Meson source archives still fails. This is a separate blocker from the missing INSTALLARCHLIB, INSTALLSITEARCH, and INSTALLVENDORARCH arguments.
Evidence
Validation after merged PR #1654 showed:
- The generated Alien-Ninja 0.03 Makefile defines nonempty
INSTALLARCHLIB,INSTALLSITEARCH, andINSTALLVENDORARCHvalues and passes all three toAlien::Build::MM=cmd -e prefix. jcpan -t Alien::Ninjaproceeds past the former prefix failure, then reportsno files extractedwhile extracting the downloaded Ninja archive.- Alien-Meson 0.06 likewise reaches archive extraction, then reports repeated
Invalid header blockerrors and times out.
Expected
Alien::Build should extract the source archives successfully and allow these pure-Perl Alien distributions to complete their build and test phases.
Scope
This tracks the downstream archive extraction failures observed after #1633's MakeMaker argument omission was corrected. It does not reopen that MakeMaker fix.
