Why

A certificate stuck in PENDING_VALIDATION, FAILED, or VALIDATION_TIMED_OUT was never usable, which normally means a DNS validation record is missing.

Follow docs/recipes/add-a-finding.md.

Steps

  1. Predicate on AcmCertificateInfo for any status other than ISSUED, INACTIVE, or EXPIRED (expiry is the previous rule).
  2. Rule acm_certificate_not_issued (Incident, Medium).
  3. Tests for each status.
