Segfault when trying to paste into the "custom layout" section of the config

The payload names no source file, so the first step is locating the custom-layout text entry in the layout settings dialog of this C/GTK3 codebase. Reproduce the crash by pasting into that field, then run under gdb or valgrind to get a backtrace pointing at the faulting code. Done means pasting into the custom layout field no longer segfaults, with the cause identified.

gpredict version 2.3-72-gc596101-3
and 2.3.115-0f3be (from flatpak).
When I open the layout settings, set the layout to "custom" and try to paste in a string (any string, valid layout or otherwise) I get a segfault.
Job 1, 'gpredict' terminated by signal SIGSEGV (Address boundary error)
Weirdly enough, I can copy a string from the layout text-box and paste it back in, but I can't seem to paste from any other application.
From my kernel logs I know that there is a core dump somewhere, but I can't seem to find where it is.
System:
