Feature Request / Issue Description
Currently, building the weather widget requires fetching submodules/subprojects (such as open-weather-fetch into subprojects/owf) during the Meson configuration step.
However, official release tarballs (e.g. wf-shell-0.11.0.tar.xz) do not ship with these subprojects pre-included. As a result, package maintainers in Linux distributions (such as Void Linux, Arch, etc.) cannot enable -Dweather-widget=enabled because distribution build environments operate entirely offline without internet access during meson setup.
Suggested Solution
Could you please include the vendor subprojects/submodules inside the release .tar.xz archives generated for future releases, or allow linking against external system dependencies where applicable? This would allow packagers across various distros to enable the weather widget out of the box for all end users.
