Problem
Whatever the build, a sandboxed run (or any environment where the app cannot do what it needs) fails silently: the update quits the app, extensions don't start, saved SQLite files don't open, MCP doesn't connect. The user gets no explanation.
Proposal
- Detect the App Sandbox at startup (
APP_SANDBOX_CONTAINER_IDin the environment, or~/Library/Containers/...inHOME). - Surface it once (About / Preferences, and in each failing feature): "Running in the macOS sandbox: extensions, MCP, SSH keys and in-place updates are unavailable".
- In the updater: if sandboxed or the bundle is not writable / translocated, do not run the replace script; open the release download page instead.
