The issue does not name repository files or tests, and describes an external Flutter limitation rather than a concrete change in this project; done would require a viable way to use a renderer without the reported size increase.

Beginning with Flutter 3.29 the --web-renderer=html option is no longer available.
There is an extensive issue on this over at the Flutter repository

Sadly this means we are currently stuck on version 3.27.4, the last version which still contains the HTML renderer.
Why? Because the app size increased drastically with canvaskit
- With canvaskit: 3.8MB
- With HTML: 1.1MB
Google claims that the canvaskit build is in the range of the HTML build, but this is only true for the Chrome specific flavor.
I really hope that size issue gets resolved in the future, either by other browsers catching up to Chrome or by Google further reducing the app size.
