STL2CAD is a FreeCAD workbench. It converts an STL, or the model on screen, into a STEP file and saves that file. It is free for FreeCAD users.
The add-on calls the converter at https://www.stl2cad.com. Help is at https://ragbox.llc/.
Layout: Init.py, InitGui.py, and package.xml at the repository root. License is LGPL-2.1-or-later.
The author has used it on Windows with FreeCAD 1.0: load or upload an STL, convert, open the viewer, and save the STEP file.
