Steps to reproduce the bug
- Receive new message(s) in a group conversation
- Open that group conversation from the thread list
- Observe the messages shown are not the latest — they reflect the state from the last time the conversation was force-refreshed (i.e., last time it was reopened ~3 times)
- Go back to thread list, reopen the conversation
- Repeat step 4 3 times eventually the true latest messages appear at the bottom
Expected behavior
Opening the conversation should show the actual latest messages immediately, not a stale snapshot from the last refresh cycle.
Actual behavior
The conversation displays messages as of the last time it was manually refreshed (by reopening 3x). New messages received since then aren't reflected until the reopen-3x process is repeated — the view isn't live/current, it's stuck on a stale cache that only advances when force-reopened enough times.
