Summary
The Cassandra direct test harness hardcodes its node: crates/storage-cassandra/tests/common/mod.rs::test_config sets contact_points to 127.0.0.1:9042, and skip_without_cassandra probes the same literal to decide whether to skip. There is no environment override. Two jobs or two developers on one host cannot run the suite against separate nodes, and a run whose 9042 is taken by another container (which happened three times on 2026-10-25 on a shared host) has no way to point the tests at its own node short of editing the harness.
The CI job runs one node on 9042 and is not affected. The three other backends' harnesses read their connection from an environment variable (EXTENDDB_TEST_PG_CONNECTION_STRING, EXTENDDB_TEST_MONGODB_URI).
Fix shape
Read the contact point from EXTENDDB_TEST_CASSANDRA_CONTACT_POINT with 127.0.0.1:9042 as the default in both functions, and mention the variable in devtools/run-cassandra-tests's header beside EXTENDDB_TEST_CASSANDRA=required.
