Symptom
On the OSS edition, a user with the editor role who has one project opens New project from the project switcher in the main app (/m), fills the form and clicks Create. Nothing visible happens. No new project appears, no error shows, and the dialog stays open.
Seen on 2026-10-06 during the v0.122.3 release QA on an OSS stage running build dddc0538 (release tip dddc053856). It was not investigated; this issue is the follow-up.
Open questions
- Is project creation allowed for an editor on OSS at all? If not, the dialog must say so instead of doing nothing.
- If it is allowed, does the request fail (4xx/5xx) or does the client not send it? Check the network response and the api logs.
- Does the same happen for an owner or admin on OSS, and on EE?
How to reproduce
- Run an OSS stack (for example
run.sh --oss --gh). - Log in as a user who is an editor in an organization with one project.
- Open the project switcher, click New project, enter a name, click Create.
Expected
Either a new project appears and becomes the current one, or a clear message explains why the user cannot create one.
