Research direction

Read the README section linked in the issue and inspect the entries returned by am -a appimageupdatetool. Compare their upstream project links with the Rust implementation named in the README. Decide which variants should be listed and update the README or listing accordingly; done means the documented description and CLI results no longer contradict each other.

Your question

The README's description about appimageupdatetool refers to https://github.com/pkgforge-dev/AppImageUpdate, i.e. the Rust implementation of AppImageUpdate. However am -a appimageupdatetool (version 10.7) lists two different versions of the tool:

Now I am confused that this contradiction is intentional, or simply a bug. I guess the latter. Should the Rust implementation be listed at least as an additiononal variant, or instead of the deprecated C++ fork?
