Direzione di ricerca

Start by locating the existing compile-time HUB75 pinout flags (e.g. ESP32_FORUM_PINOUT, ARDUINO_ADAFRUIT_MATRIXPORTAL_ESP32S3) in the C++ source and the existing ethernet adapter dropdown implementation to use as a reference. Replace the compile-time flags with a runtime dropdown for each supported pinout, add logic to disable incompatible pinouts on S3 boards with OPI PSRAM, and update pin initialization to use the selected configuration. Done when the dropdown appears in the UI, all valid pinouts work on supported hardware, and new adapters can be added via a single list entry.

Descrizione

board request enhancement

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Currently the HUB75 pinOut is set at compile time, with these build flags

  • classic esp32: (default "trinity"), ESP32_FORUM_PINOUT
  • esp32-S3: (default "smart matrix"), ARDUINO_ADAFRUIT_MATRIXPORTAL_ESP32S3, HD_WF2_PINOUT, MOONHUB_S3_PINOUT

While it is very error-prone to let users define their HUB75E pins one-by-one, it should be possible to provide a drop-down of known configurations supported by the MCU - similar to ethernet.

The tricky part is -S3: on boards with OPI PSRAM some pinouts are not possible, especially ARDUINO_ADAFRUIT_MATRIXPORTAL_ESP32S3 and HD_WF2_PINOUT.

It would also make it simpler to add new adapters when they arrive on the market, like this that actually has 4 (!) possible pinouts depending on board revision:
