Direzione di ricerca

Start by inspecting existing headers in Rust source files and x.py, then inventory source, test, script, and generated-file types to determine which can safely contain headers. Review the CI configuration to identify where a lightweight check belongs. Done means eligible files have consistent MPL 2.0 and SPDX notices, exclusions preserve semantics and ownership, and CI checks future files.

Descrizione

documentation technical debt

Problem

Most Rust source and integration-test files have no SPDX or MPL source header, while newer files and x.py do. The repository-level license still applies, but inconsistent headers make automated provenance and reuse checks harder.

Acceptance criteria

  • Define which source, test, script, and generated files require headers.
  • Apply the MPL 2.0 notice and SPDX-License-Identifier: MPL-2.0 consistently.
  • Exclude formats where a header would break semantics.
  • Add a lightweight CI check for future files.
  • Do not alter third-party or generated content ownership.
  • Keep copyright attribution centralized in the existing project files.
