Direzione di ricerca

Start with SHORT_FLAG_CONFLICT_BASELINE and the invariant test in command-signatures/src/lib.rs, then inspect the 13 listed handwritten JSON files and each command's actual CLI semantics. Resolve conflicts incrementally, removing only the baseline entries each fix addresses. When no entries remain, remove the allowlist mechanism and make diagnostics unconditional failures.

Descrizione

Background

#400 added a hard "no new conflicts" gate for duplicate short flags directly authored on one handwritten command/subcommand node (completion-metadata/src/validation.rs, invariant test in command-signatures/src/lib.rs). Because fixing the 45 pre-existing offenders would require researching each command's intended CLI semantics, that PR intentionally left them in place behind a temporary, exact baseline allowlist rather than blocking the validator change on cleanup.

Task

Reduce the baseline allowlist (command-signatures/src/lib.rs, SHORT_FLAG_CONFLICT_BASELINE) to zero by fixing each of the 45 documented conflicts across 13 handwritten JSON files, then removing the corresponding baseline entry (and eventually the allowlist mechanism itself once it is empty):

  • brew.json: 2
  • copilot.json: 27
  • flutter.json: 2
  • kubecolor.json: 1
  • kubectl.json: 1
  • oc.json: 1
  • pscale.json: 2
  • pulumi.json: 1
  • rsync.json: 1
  • sfdx.json: 1
  • stripe.json: 4
  • yarn.json: 1
  • zapier.json: 1

Each fix requires understanding the command's actual CLI to decide which option should keep the short flag (or whether both should lose it), rather than a mechanical change. Fixes can land incrementally, file by file, each removing only the baseline entries it resolves.

Acceptance criteria

  • Every entry in the baseline allowlist is removed because the underlying command spec no longer has that conflict (not because the allowlist mechanism itself is weakened).
  • Once the baseline is empty, remove the allowlist mechanism entirely and make every diagnostic a direct, unconditional test failure.
