Direzione di ricerca

Read _deployment.rst and the --help text in lente.sh and prism.sh, then compare how -b, -n, and --server=none behave in host and bridge modes. Confirm the intended use case with the author and decide whether bridge mode should publish ports. Done means the use case and host-versus-bridge behavior are documented in both places, with the port decision reflected in the docs.

Descrizione

bug documentation

`-b` switches the container from `--network=host` to the Docker bridge network. It was added with `-n` (instance number) in c586a41 (lente.sh) and d854ad2 (prism.sh), with no stated use case.

Problems:

  • No `-p` is published in bridge mode, so Prism (6590) / Lente (6595) are only reachable on the container IP (`docker inspect`), not from other computers.
  • `prism.sh --server=none` sets `LENTEIP=127.0.0.1`, which in bridge mode is the container itself, not the host.
  • The docs don't say when to use host vs bridge.

Probable use case: several instances on one host (`-n 1 -b`, `-n 2 -b`), where host networking would collide on the fixed ports. Needs confirming with the author.

To do:

  • Confirm the use case.
  • Document host vs bridge in `_deployment.rst` and in the `--help` text.
  • Decide whether bridge mode should publish ports (e.g. a port flag per instance).
