Start after posit-dev/commons#404 merges, since the R package design may still change. Read the shared fixtures tests/shared/artifact-scan.json and tests/shared/artifact-edit.json, then follow the existing Python fixture runners and tool registration; update tests/shared/tool-registration.json when edit_artifact is registered. Done when Python supports both artifact fixtures and the shared skill text works for both packages.

Descrizione

enhancement py

Add document artifacts (posit-dev/commons#71) to the Python package. The R package adds them in posit-dev/commons#404, and the design may still change there, so start after it merges.

Starting points (agent-written)
  • The shared fixtures tests/shared/artifact-scan.json and tests/shared/artifact-edit.json have no Python runner yet. Add one for each.
  • tests/shared/tool-registration.json lists edit_artifact under pending_tools. Remove it from that list once Python registers the tool.
  • prompts/skills/artifacts/SKILL.md refers to "R cells" and "a fresh R session". Both packages ship this file, so the text needs to work for Python too.
  • Python's load_skill only offers the artifacts skill when edit_artifact is registered, so the skill appears in Python automatically once the tool exists.
  • The front-end files in www/commons-chat/ (commons-artifact.js and the two CSS files) already ship in both packages.
