Result

External monitor works with full desktop on macOS 26.7 using driver package 1.0.9 (1401 Mac 1.0.13 release asset). Stable for 2 days, survives reboots. Intel UHD 630 composites the desktop; the NVIDIA GPU drives the external port.

1.0.11 and 1.1.0+ (tested 1.8.0) give a black external display on this machine because of #51 (kexts/26/NVAccel still on VRAM ABI 1).

Hardware

  • Laptop (Monster T5-class), BIOS graphics mode MSHybrid
  • Intel UHD Graphics 630 (8086:9bc4) — internal 1920x1080 panel
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super 8 GB, TU104, 10de:1e91, subsystem 1d05:108a
  • HDMI and Thunderbolt/DP are both wired to the NVIDIA GPU
  • External: Xiaomi Mi Monitor 3440x1440 @ 50/60/100 Hz
  • BAR1 256 MB; the card offers no 4–8 GB resizable size, so the driver waits 100 s before taking over (expected, see #23)

Software

  • macOS 26.7 (25G229), x86_64
  • OpenCore REL-107-2026-03-20, SMBIOS MacBookPro16,1, SecureBootModel Disabled, csr-active-config 0x0A43, IONDRVSupport excluded
  • boot-args: nvfb=1 nvaccel=1 nvfbheads=4 -nvkmsnosmooth amfi_get_out_of_my_way=0x1 amfi=0x80 -nvrmnoflip
  • Driver package 1.0.9; NVRMFB needed a local ad-hoc re-sign (codesign --force --sign -) to load the first time

What was needed

  • -nvrmnoflip is required. Without it, zero-copy scan-out is armed ~60 s after boot, the RM display hash table fills ("Display Hash table is FULL") and the picture freezes / windows stop updating. Same fix as #17 / #20.
  • NVIDIA Metal is not used for the desktop (Intel draws, NVIDIA only scans out). Metal on the NVIDIA GPU needs the Turing mapping fix from #9 (see my comment there).

Counters on a working boot

debug.nvaccel_iop_ok 13803, debug.nvaccel_iop_src_surf 13803, debug.nvrmfb_vram_grants 26 (517 MB granted, 80 MB mapped), nvrm-display "heads 0x1 accel 4 agdc 1 k5 1 iop 1".

Happy to test a 1.x build with a rebuilt macOS 26 NVAccel on this machine.
