The failure happens in the interactive sign-in path that Connect-MgGraph uses, which goes through Azure.Identity.Broker and WAM. The error text 'Failed to parse the returned client info' comes from that flow, so start by reproducing with Connect-MgGraph -Debug on 7.7.0-preview.5 and on 7.6.6 and comparing the broker logs. Done means a working reproduction and a clear cause, either a fix in this SDK or a confirmed upstream dependency problem with a reference to it. The issue has no comments yet, and the root cause may sit in MSAL or PowerShell rather than in this repository.

This issue happens in PowerShell.Preview.3 and .Preview.5. It does not happen in PowerShell 7.6.6.
