Use case: I'm using LSP Multisampler x12 DirectOut LV2 plugin in Ardour 8, as a kind of drum machine: MIDI for all instruments is handled in one MIDI track, and then I can process each instrument's audio in their own Audio tracks.
For this use case, It would be useful to be able to modify all sample parameters on-the-fly, although I was now particularly interested in the sample pitch.
Currently, the only automatable parameters per instrument are
- Instrument mix gain
- Panorama left
- Panorama right
- Direct output ON
- Instrument ON
In my setup, I can automate volume and pan in the instrument audio tracks, but that's all.
I suspect that, besides technical hurdles, having everything automatable would imply a huge list of parameters for the multisampler, but would be OK for the mono sampler.
From the discussion in https://github.com/lsp-plugins/lsp-plugins/issues/213 I somewhat understand that all the sample-related parameters are used for "offline" non-live rendering of the sample for further use, is that right? Seems to agree with the sample sound stopping when I change some parameter during reproduction. If this is the case, then probably my request is totally undoable, and I should resort to some other approach —maybe some drum machine plugin?—.
