Direzione di ricerca

Start with the Deferred / Future Work section of docs/specs/20260703-durable_scheduler_design.md, then read docs/decisions/20261006-execution_backend_port_in_nanocore.md for the current queued-execution constraints. Nothing here is ready to implement: the issue asks for a measured starvation workload and a proposed policy amendment that a maintainer must approve. A useful contribution would be a written proposal with that workload, not a code change.

Summary

Decide fairness and aging requirements for queued execution.

Category

decision needed

Area

Execution backend and scheduling

Observed behavior and evidence

The deferred scheduler list includes fairness and aging; current FIFO admission must not be described as a general fairness policy. The Deferred / Future Work section is present on main 3a54ea25. No implementation conformance is claimed.

Impact

Severity: important. Explicitly deferred design scope; this is a backlog decision, not an rc.1 blocker or implementation authorization.

Suggested improvement

Measure a concrete starvation or contention workload and present the smallest policy amendment. Retain the current ordering until approved; do not add priorities merely because they may be useful. Owning specification: docs/specs/20260703-durable_scheduler_design.md. A governing owner amendment and engineer approval are required before implementation.

Acceptance criteria

  • An accepted workload and fairness criterion can be tested.
  • The approved ordering is deterministic across the supported restart boundary.
  • Authorization, accepted queued work and exact admission identity remain unchanged.
