Put a prompt one click away: a prompuff:// link in a note, a wiki or a browser bookmark that opens, copies or renders that prompt.

Settle first, and record in ROADMAP.md

  • The link's shape. MCP resources already use prompuff://prompts/{id}, so an "open" link that reads the same would be natural. Copy and render need their own form, such as a path or a query. Once a shape ships it's part of the promise, so choose it before building.
  • What each action does. For example: open shows the prompt, copy copies its body, and render opens it on the Render tab, where its variables can be filled in.

What to do

  • Copy link in a prompt's menu copies its prompuff:// link.
  • prompuff link <prompt> prints it. Like the other commands, it takes an ID or a title, exits with code 2 when a title matches several prompts or none, and takes --json.
  • The app handles a link it's launched with, and hands it to the running copy over the single-instance pipe, as it does --quick-save.
  • A link only opens, copies or renders. It never changes, deletes or exports anything, because any web page can open one. A link to a prompt that doesn't exist, or one in Recently deleted, shows a toast and does nothing else.
  • Registering the scheme with the system is #31.

Done when
