The issue names only the RECORD_SOURCE setting, so start by finding where it is read and written in the repo and how the existing settings GUI stores values. Then check how PipeWire or PulseAudio sources are listed on your system. Done means the picker lists input sources with readable names, saves the selection to RECORD_SOURCE, and refreshes on demand.
