Problem
The description of the max-daily-ai-credits frontmatter field incorrectly states that a system default threshold is applied when the field is omitted:
"A system default threshold applies when this field is omitted; set to
-1to disable the guardrail, or provide an explicit integer value to override the default."
This reverses the actual behavior: the guardrail is disabled by default, not enabled with a default threshold.
Current correct syntax
Per the gh-aw reference (syntax-agentic.md):
"Per-user 24-hour AI Credits (AIC) guardrail: activation blocks execution once the triggering user's aggregated AI Credits for this workflow over the last 24h exceed the threshold (integer or
K/Mshort-form string, or-1). Disabled by default; omit the field to leave the guardrail off, or set an explicit threshold to enable it."
So omitting max-daily-ai-credits means no 24-hour cap is enforced at all — not that a hidden system default kicks in. Setting -1 is actually redundant with omitting the field (both leave the guardrail off); you need an explicit positive integer (or K/M short-form) to turn the guardrail on.
Suggested fix
Replace the max-daily-ai-credits bullet with wording consistent with the reference, e.g.:
max-daily-ai-creditscaps the total AIC consumed by this workflow across the last 24 hours for the triggering user. Runs that would exceed the cap are blocked before they start. Disabled by default — omit the field (or set-1) to leave the guardrail off; provide an explicit integer value to enable it.
This also means the frontmatter example in the file (which sets max-daily-ai-credits: 2500) is itself fine as an example of enabling the guardrail, but the surrounding prose describing the default needs correcting so learners don't assume a cap exists by default.
