Start by reproducing the issue at the /chat path on Windows 10.0.26200: create a session with the work tree left at the default root area, submit a prompt, and observe the error and retry state. Done means the app either prevents submission with that configuration or provides a working recovery path instead of leaving the session unusable.

BUG: If I go to start a new session using the plus sign and leave it defaulted to the root area of my projects for the work tree (semantics might be wrong here) I can submit a prompt but then it errors and becomes an unusable session with a retry button shown. IT should either prevent me from submitting to being with or allow some sort of recovery from that.
